Big Brothers Big Sisters is reaching out to the community to find mentors for the more than 40 children who are on the organization’s waiting list. Sarah Heimer, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Arkansas, joined us for lunch and talked about Big Brothers Big Sisters. “We match children at risk in our community with caring adult mentors,” Heimer said. “Our hope is we make a lifelong match.”
Nearly 250 children in the area are currently in the program. As a mentor, you can spend time with the child and include your own family in the fun. Taylor Faught, CEO of The Right Solutions, recently joined the board of the organization and has been a mentor in the past. He plans to become one again. “I’ve seen the impact of it,” he said. “It’s something I definitely believe in.”
As a company, we are supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters by hosting jeans days. Each day we wear jeans, we give a donation to the organization. Consider supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters with your own fundraiser or become a mentor. The children in our community are counting on us.
