Excellent work Emily Sosebee of Woodstock, the final winner in TRS’ 2015 Future Nurses Scholarship contest. Emily first considered being a Nurse when she was 13 years old and her best friend was battling leukemia in the hospital. She saw how the Nurses cared for her friend. “She was calling all of the Nurses all by name, giving them hugs, asking about their kids or new house or whatever else you may ask a good friend about after a long vacation,” she wrote in her essay.
“This is what comforting and restoring lives means to me, being there when patients are at their very lowest, helping them through the days when no medicine can lessen the pain, holding their hair as they throw up into waste bins and sitting with them when nobody else can.” Congratulations Emily! We wish you all the best as you pursue a career to comfort and restore lives.
Congratulations again to all the scholarship winners, and thanks to everyone who entered the scholarship contest. We will start accepting applications for the 2016 scholarship contest starting this fall.
