Go behind the curtain and listen to the story of the musician who wrote the song “Welcome Home” in this TRS Radio podcast. TRS recruiter Karissa Hobbs wrote the song as a heartfelt thank you to all nurses who are comforting and restoring lives across the nation. Karissa and several co-workers, including Tracy V in the TRS advertising department, produced a music video to accompany Karissa’s song. Click here to see the video now: Welcome Home
In the podcast, TRS radio host Frank Whalen talks to Karissa about her background in music. She explains that when she was 1 or 2 years old a song came on the radio, and her mother said how Karissa was really feeling the music. “I believe music is a universal language,” she said. “My main instrument is my voice.” She started playing guitar because her father played one. When she was 13 years old she performed live at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and was recorded for the first time. “Music is so much a part of me that I can’t live a full life without it,” she said.
