With only 15 days left to go before TravCon 2017, excitement is building among attendees. The Travelers Conference is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, learn some new tips, acquire some additional CEU’s, network and just have a good hang with colleagues that understand how crazy life can be for a traveling healthcare professional.
And some people are just excited about the prospect of Las Vegas. If you’ve never been there before, the uncertainty must be giving you Christmas-morning levels of anxiety; so much has been written, spoken, filmed and documented about Vegas that it’s hard to know what to believe. As we’ve been there, our suggestion is that Vegas is like anything else in life, it’s what you make it. Be smart, be aware and be in good company and you will have a blast.
In the meantime, here are a collection of memorable quotes about Las Vegas to whet the appetite for all the excitement coming your way!

-Mark Ellwood, Why It’s Okay to Love Las Vegas
Contemporary Las Vegas is astonishing. At night, it is a brilliant cluster of jewels of all shapes, sizes, and colors, glowing in the middle of a vast, black velvet canopy. By day, it is also an amazing sight, almost like a mirage. There is nothing but desert and rugged mountains all around, and then–in the middle of it all–one of the largest and fastest growing cities in the United States … truly an enigma.
-Thomas Taj Ainlay, Las Vegas: The Fabulous First Century
Las Vegas is the only place I know where money really talks–it says, “Goodbye.”

-Marc Cooper, The Last Honest Place in America
No one thinks Las Vegas is real; it is illusion, but visitors willingly suspend disbelief and pretend.
-Hal Rothman, Neon Metropolis
Las Vegas has become a child’s picture-book dream of a city — here a storybook castle, there a sphinx-flanked black pyramid beaming white light into the darkness as a landing beam for UFOs, and everywhere neon oracles and twisting screens predict happiness and good fortune, announce singers and comedians and magicians in residence or on their way, and the lights always flash and beckon and call.
-Neil Gaiman, American Gods
Las Vegas is a city built on hopes, dreams, and a little bit of crazy.
-Michael McDonald, Las Vegas’ New Lights Will Be Powered by Footsteps
So much of Las Vegas falls under the heading “it has to be seen to be believed.”
