Rachel Flippo Celebrates 10 Years at TRS Healthcare

Rachel Flippo, Account Manager at TRS Healthcare

Prior to her career with TRS Healthcare, Rachel Flippo had never worked in the travel nursing industry. Initially, she worked at a preschool before becoming a stay-at-home mom. But when the opportunity to join the TRS team arose, Rachel decided to take the plunge.

“I had moved back to Oklahoma and was looking for a job,” explains Rachel. “I had stumbled upon a position at TRS and applied.”

She soon settled into her new job with TRS Healthcare as Account Manager Liaison. In this role, she submitted travel healthcare candidates to vendor sites, manually audited sites to ensure job needs were up-to-date, and covered for account managers when needed.

Thanks to her willingness to dive straight into this work, it didn’t take long for Rachel to move into a new role.

“I learned everything I could and provided coverage for account managers when they were out of office. Then, a position was offered to me, and I took it!”

As Account Manager, Rachel works with TRS Healthcare recruiters to match job offers with a clinician’s skill set and lifestyle needs. In particular, she finds joy in being able to place a nurse at their top facility, near their kids or family, or in an area where they’ve always wanted to travel.

“Recently, I was able help a clinician find a job opportunity in Washington, as her husband was just stationed there. I have placed clinicians where they have grandbabies on the way or already here, and they want to be part of their lives. I’ve also placed clinicians who just want to be close to relatives, whether it be just to enjoy time with them or maybe helping while a spouse is away,” she explains.

Rachel has truly come a long way in ten years, and she doesn’t plan to stop growing her healthcare staffing experience any time soon. When asked what advice she would give to anyone new to account management, she says, “Never stop learning, and always build and maintain relationships.”

As for why she enjoys working at TRS Healthcare, there are a number of reasons.

“I love that we are a family unit, and we all have the same goal, which is getting nurses and allied professionals what they are looking for and getting them on contract,” she says. “I love that we can help them achieve their something bigger, whether it be buying a new car, paying off debt, taking a long-awaited vacation, or buying a new house.”

Rachel says the TRS Healthcare leadership also plays a major role in why she loves the company. “[They] truly care about you, your needs, and your something bigger,” she says.

Outside of work, Rachel loves spending time with her family as a mom of six kids and says she can often be found watching her kids play sports, taking shopping trips with her daughter, or going to concerts.
